Julie Wideman, Owner & Director

Meet our owner and director, Mrs. Julie Wideman.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Lander University, with a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.  I spent many years in Supply Chain management positions. 

I am married to an amazing and supportive husband, Tim Wideman. We have four children, two girls and two boys, ages 6 to 35. We have two dogs, Jack, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Roman, a Goldendoodle, and two cats, Salem and Hygge. Our family has had the privilege of attending several wonderful daycares, preschools in Greenwood, SC. As a mom, there was just always something more that I needed. I needed a preschool where my children could be cared for all day while I worked, not just during the morning. I needed a preschool that felt like home, where my children felt comfortable and loved, and our family felt welcomed. I needed a preschool where my children would be encouraged to learn at their highest potential in an environment that fostered new friendships.  

The year of 2020, filled with all of its many changes, led me in a new direction. I was determined to open a new preschool facility in Greenwood, to serve all the amazing families and preschool age children in and around our area.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine.  I grew up playing school at home and babysitting some pretty awesome kids.  My mother taught 1st grade for 20+ years, and I spent a good bit of time in her classroom over the years.  As an adult, I have volunteered many hours serving children and families in our community through various ways, such as church, Girl Scout troop leader, and Vice President and President of school PTO.  I love children!

Wunderkind Preschool Academy is a dream come true for me. I am passionately committed to providing a safe, healthy, and educational environment and the very best preschool experience for children.  It will be an ever-evolving program tailored to best serve the needs of our children and families.  Thank you for sharing your children with our Wunderkind family!
